Josephine Lock - Psychotherapist
MA, Dip Psychotherapy, UKCP Registered
Who am I?
I qualified as a psychotherapist in 1983 and have been registered with the UKCP since 1993. I trained at The Minster Centre and Regents College in London in a range of theoretical approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I am a full time psychotherapist and counsellor and have extensive experience of working both in private practice, the charitable sector and the NHS. I now concentrate on my private practice and offer long and short term psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and couples. I also provide supervision to other practicing psychotherapists and counselors.
My approach is flexible so that the therapy suits the individual personality and needs of the client.

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy provides a safe, regular, reliable and confidential relationship in which to explore life's problems by understanding and making sense of symptoms and difficulties. Change becomes possible and a range of different choices can be made.
Short term counselling focuses on immediate life concerns, while longer term psychotherapy explores habitual life patterns and tendencies.
